Hikaru Sawai is notably an influential character in Koto composition, especially for his integration of modern rock instrumentation merged with the traditional sounds of the Koto. Not only does he experiment with the fun baseline using the 17-string kotos, but also uses a lot of triplets – similar to many popular rock songs. Because of these Western influences, this song is well-received by international audiences.
