Andy Hug, the Swiss Karate master, made history by becoming the first non-Japanese finalist at the Kyokushin-style World Championships. He later rose to fame in the world of kickboxing, earning the nickname “The Blue-Eyed Samurai” for his skilled technique and sportsmanship. In 1996, he claimed the top prize at the K-1 Grand Prix, solidifying his status as one of the greatest martial artists of all time. Today, we honor his legacy and the powerful impact he had on martial arts and combat sports through his stunning knockouts such as the “axe kick” or the “Hug tornado”.
